About. I am a Potter and Maker based in Scotland. I produce wheel-thrown tableware and objects.
After graduating from Glasgow School of Art I worked for homeware companies Habitat and Ikea, before establishing my own studio.
I live and work in Dumfries and Galloway with my wife Laura and two young sons, Rowan and Elliot.
In the summer of 2018 I sat down at a potters wheel and threw my first pot. I’d like to say I was a natural. I wasn’t. But I’d made something with my own hands and that felt incredible. That feeling was a driving force; I mopped the floors, tidied the studio, mixed glazes and helped to load and unload the kilns - in return for extra time at the wheel.
Eager to find a way to develop and grow my own practice further I began a part-time apprenticeship at Clay Works Studios.
I am currently working towards my first shop opening - a small collection of functional, wheel-thrown pots.
My work aims to celebrate simplicity and functionality, highlighting the inherent beauty of objects that are made by hand - I document my journey as a potter on Instagram
